My Story

Growing up in Ghana, I witnessed firsthand how decades of underinvestment in healthcare led to the avoidable deaths of close family members and friends. This narrative is common to many other countries in sub-Saharan Africa. Despite some improvements over the years, millions of Africans still die each year due to lack of access to basic healthcare, a situation compounded by a growing double disease burden of both infectious and non-communicable diseases.

Over the past decade, I have tackled some of the toughest challenges in healthcare in the United States. This experience has taught me important lessons on how to leverage innovation to tackle issues of affordability, access, equity, and quality. These are challenges faced by health systems globally, regardless of a country's economic wealth.  In order to leapfrog its mounting healthcare crises, Africa needs bold innovations to solve problems of financing, coverage, pharmaceuticals, reimbursement, infrastructure, and personnel.

My goal here is simple: To define Africa's high priority healthcare problems and help build solutions for the current and future generations. I plan to do this through:

  • Investing in healthcare change makers on the African continent. Learn more here

  • Sharing my insights and reflections on healthcare in Africa through my blog. Read it here

  • Participating in critical solution-focused conversations. Book me here

  • Partnering with private and public stakeholders to build and invest in solutions. Connect with me here

Together, we can build a healthier and more prosperous future for sub-Saharan Africa. Let's embark on this journey together!
